Where we came from
Sentient Robotics was established in 2018 with a clear conviction: that world-class autonomous systems can be engineered and built in Nigeria, for Nigeria and for the world. We started with unmanned aircraft — designing airframes, writing firmware, integrating sensors — and we have never stopped expanding the boundaries of what can be built here. From that founding discipline in UAV development, we have grown into a multi-domain engineering company with programmes running across air, land, water, subsea and the space frontier.
Founding disciplines
- UAV / UGV development — from concept to field
- Electronic systems design — high-precision & reliability
- 3D CAD modelling — drafting & design services
- Scientific procurement — engineering supply chain
What has stayed the same
- Everything designed in-house
- Built for field repairability
- Sovereign engineering philosophy
- Client outcomes above all
Autonomous systems across every domain
We design and build machines that operate wherever the mission demands — unmanned aircraft, ground vehicles, surface vessels, subsea rovers and, on our roadmap, orbital platforms. Every system shares the same autonomy philosophy: sense the environment precisely, decide reliably, act safely, and report back clearly. The breadth of our portfolio is not a distraction — it is the point. Each domain strengthens the others, and a system built for one medium can task or hand off to another.
Active programmes
- Unmanned aircraft — fixed-wing, flying-wing, multirotor
- Ground vehicles — tracked UGVs for hazardous terrain
- Surface vessels — autonomous boats, coastal & inland
- Subsea rovers — ROVs & AUVs for inspection
Engineering capability
- Composite airframe & hull fabrication
- CNC machining & additive manufacturing
- Electronic systems & embedded firmware
- Software: autonomy, mission planning, GCS

Complete project lifecycle
We manage the full lifecycle of every project we take on — from requirements capture and concept design through prototype, test, manufacture and field support. Our teams are structured so that each project has dedicated specialists who own their domain. No handoffs between separate companies, no loss of institutional knowledge mid-project. The people who design it build it, test it and support it. This is what lets us move fast without losing quality, and why clients return to us for follow-on work.
Project stages
- Requirements & concept — scoping, feasibility, architecture
- Design & prototype — CAD, fabrication, firmware
- Test & integration — validation, iteration, hardening
- Delivery & support — fielding, training, maintenance
What this delivers for clients
- Efficiency — fewer hours, more outcome
- Reliability — stable, predictable systems
- Local availability — no international lead times
- Complete lifecycle management
Three mission classes
Our clients fall into three broad classes, and our platforms are designed to serve all three. Defence and security clients need systems that are ruggedised, mission-reliable and supportable in the field. Commercial clients need platforms that reduce cost, increase reach and eliminate human exposure to hazard. Education clients — universities, STEM programmes and pilot academies — need systems they can actually work with: affordable enough to use and robust enough to survive the learning process. We build for all three.
Defence & security
- ISR & reconnaissance — persistent wide-area awareness
- UXO & mine detection — keeping operators safe
- Logistics & resupply — unmanned load-carry
- Border & maritime patrol — autonomous surveillance
Commercial & education
- Survey & mapping — agriculture, infrastructure, land
- Subsea inspection — pipelines, hulls, structures
- STEM platforms — teaching & research UAVs
- Pilot training — affordable, repairable trainers
Engineering sovereignty
The long-term goal of Sentient Robotics is sovereign capability: a Nigerian company that designs, builds and operates world-class autonomous systems — for Nigerian and international missions — entirely in-house. We believe the ability to engineer advanced systems is itself a strategic asset, for the country, for the organisations we work with and for the engineers who build these things. Everything we hire, train, fabricate and test moves that goal forward. Conceived in Abuja. Engineered for the field. Built to last.
Building toward
- Orbital platforms — CubeSat & small-sat programmes
- Cross-domain mission loops — satellite tasking drones
- Expanded fabrication — larger composites, more CNC
- International partnerships — joint ventures & exports
What drives us
- Sovereign design & manufacture
- Long-term client partnerships
- Training the next generation of engineers
- Technology that serves the mission
